GCL College Up Date
* Bowling Green junior Jordon Crawford (LaSalle) scored a game-high 16 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds and two steals ina 67-57 win over Ohio U.
* Loyola Chicago senior Walt Gibler (St.Xavier) scored 10 points in a 69-48 loss to Cleveland State. It extended Gibler's streak of double digit scoring games to a career-best 10 in a row.
* Wofford senior Brad Loesing (St.Xavier) had back-to-back 20 point games, going for 20 in a 67-57 loss to Western Carolina, and followed that up with 21 ina 51-48 loss to Chattanooga.
* Michigan State freshman defensive end Marcus Rush (Moeller) wass named to the Freshman All-American team by the Football Writers Associationof America. Rush was one of 28 players named to the team. He started all 14 games, and ranked third on the team with four sacks and 12 tackles for loss. In addition to the FWAA, Rush has been named to All-American teams by the Sporting News, Yahoo Sports, Phil Steele, and College Football News.com.
*Stanford Senior David Mosko (St.Xavier) finished second in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:27.64, and fourth in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:52.91 in a dual against Pacific University.
* Pierce Harger (Moeller), Northwesterns 165 pound freshman, pickedup a 4-2 decision over #8 ranked Ben Jordan of Wisconsin.
* Ohio University 133 pound freshman Drew Hammer (Moeller) picked up his first duel victory, a 7-2 win over Northere Illnois Rob Jillard
